Built by Riders, For Riders
In 1998, after a skatepark crash exposed the shortcomings of traditional skate shoes for BMX riding, we set out to build something that didn't exist. By early 1999, we had our first shoes for sale — making SCg the first BMX rider-owned shoe company. And we're still the only BMX shoe company that owns our own factory.

Back in 1999 and 2000, several of us BMX riders were putting Primo Tenderizers on MTBs and taking them into the woods — racing cross country, jumping full-suspension bikes over anything we could find. We needed shoes that could handle both the precision of BMX and the punishment of MTB trails. That's why SCg has always been built for riders who push limits on two wheels — whether it's BMX dirt jumps, skateparks, street, or MTB trails and cross country.

In 2025, we significantly expanded our Bogotá, Colombia facility, increasing our space by nearly 500%. We've integrated advanced automation into our production process to enhance efficiency and raise the level of consistency in stitching and quality. Our highly skilled and trained workers combine traditional craftsmanship with modern precision technology, bringing together decades of shoemaking expertise with the passion of riders who test every prototype on real streets, parks, trails, and MTB courses.

When you wear SCg, you're not just buying shoes — you're supporting a community of riders who built their own factory to make exactly what we need.

  • 🏭 Our Own Facility

Born in 1998 from a skatepark crash that exposed the shortcomings of traditional skate shoes for BMX riding, SCg became the first BMX rider-owned shoe company when we had our first shoes for sale at the beginning of 1999 — and we're still the only BMX shoe company that owns our own factory in Bogotá. No middlemen, no shortcuts. While other small rider-owned brands exist globally, we're unique in owning our entire production facility.

Built for both BMX and MTB riders who push limits on two wheels — from dirt jumps and skateparks to trails and cross country. Back in 1999-2000, several of us BMX riders were pioneering the crossover, putting Primo Tenderizers on MTBs and racing them in the woods, jumping full-suspension bikes over everything. We needed shoes that could handle both disciplines. In 2025, we significantly expanded our facility, increasing our capacity by nearly 500%. We've integrated advanced automation into our production to enhance efficiency and raise the level of consistency in stitching and quality. Our highly skilled and trained workers maintain complete control over quality at every stage, and we can innovate faster than brands tied to contract manufacturers.

  • 🔬 Precision Craftsmanship

Our highly skilled and trained workers bring generations of shoemaking expertise, enhanced by advanced automation that ensures consistent stitching and quality in every pair. Each shoe undergoes rigorous quality control — grip tests, flex tests, durability checks — before earning the SCg seal.

  • 🚴 Rider-Tested Daily

Our factory team includes active BMX and MTB riders. Prototypes go straight from the production line to local skateparks, dirt jumps, trails — from cross country to enduro runs. If it doesn't pass the session test on both BMX and MTB, it doesn't ship.

  • ♻️ Sustainable Practices

Local production means lower carbon footprint. We minimize waste through precise material cutting, recycle scraps, and prioritize durable construction that lasts years, not months.

The SCg Manufacturing Process

1. Design & Rider Input

Every shoe starts with real riders' feedback. Our design team (all active riders) sketches concepts based on what's missing in the market.

2. Material Sourcing

We source premium materials: durable canvas, reinforced suede, high-friction rubber compounds. Everything is tested for abrasion resistance and flex.

3. Pattern Cutting & Assembly

Our highly skilled and trained workers use precision CNC tools for pattern cutting, then expertly assemble uppers. Advanced automation ensures consistent stitching at critical stress points, maintaining the highest quality standards across every pair.

4. Sole Attachment & Vulcanization

Soles are bonded using vulcanized rubber techniques — the gold standard for grip and durability. This process combines traditional methods with modern precision to ensure consistent quality.

5. Quality Control & Testing

Every pair undergoes rigorous inspection by our trained quality team. We check stitching integrity, sole adhesion, and fit consistency. Random samples go to our rider team for session testing.

6. Multiple Ways to Ride SCg

We sell directly to riders online, through trusted bike shops, and via distributors worldwide. No matter how you buy, you're talking to the people who made them if something needs attention.

Our Commitment to You

Transparency: We're not hiding behind marketing. This is our factory, our team, our responsibility.

Quality: We stake our reputation on every pair. If it's not good enough for our team to ride, it doesn't ship.

Community: We listen. Email us your feedback, and it goes straight to the production team.

Sustainability: Local production, minimal waste, durable products. We're not perfect, but we're trying.
