Steven Caro – Founder, Owner, Rider

Steven Caro is the visionary behind SCg Shoe Co., the pioneering rider-owned footwear brand established in 1999. A former United States Air Force serviceman, Steven transitioned from military life to immerse himself completely back into the BMX culture, moving to Greenville, NC and that is where SCg was born. A significant crash at a skatepark highlighted the inadequacies of traditional skate shoes for BMX riding, inspiring Steven to design a shoe that catered specifically to the needs of riders.

Combining his architectural expertise with firsthand riding experience, Steven developed the first SCg shoe, emphasizing durability and rider support. His commitment to quality led to the establishment of SCg's own manufacturing facility in Bogotá, Colombia, allowing for meticulous oversight of production and material sourcing.

Now based in Tampa, Florida, Steven continues to lead SCg with a focus on high quality construction, high end materials, innovation and community engagement, ensuring that the brand remains true to its roots while evolving to meet the needs of modern riders.
